Meet the Families
We met 10 years ago while working as Spanish translators. We grew from sharing a cubicle, to sharing an apartment, to getting married three years after meeting. The wedding took place in Noah’s parents’ backyard on a beautiful Sunday morning, since Natalia loves Sundays, sunshine and mornings more than anything else.
Shortly after getting married we bought our current house in a vibrant and diverse suburb near Boston. We have 2 playgrounds around the corner from our house, and there are always children playing in the streets. The neighbors have a 4 year old girl and a 2 year old boy, and we believe there is no better place to raise a child.
Taking time to be in nature, to relax and reflect is important to us. We spend our free time walking by the river nearby, biking, hiking and discovering new places. We love traveling, cooking and spending time with friends when we can.
Currently, Noah works as a data analyst and volunteers with Spanish-speaking families. Natalia teaches Mindfulness and English as a second language to elementary school kids.
Natalia talks about Noah: “Noah is the most laid back person I know. I always say that I married him because living with Noah is like living on vacation. He is nurturing, kind and likes spontaneity. He is always excited to try a new recipe, or make a new friend. Noah conveys calm and warmth and is very emotionally aware. He will be a wonderful role model for any little boy or girl.”
Noah talks about Natalia: “Natalia bursts with love and a desire to live life to the fullest. The friends that she makes often remain friends for life. Natalia is the worrier of the couple but she is also the creative one, always looking for opportunities to discover new things, advance and grow. She has worked really hard her whole life to get to where she is, and she is always trying to help others. She is happiest when travelling, especially to the beach. Her best childhood memories are from the beach, and she could spend every day there!”
Our Families
We come from very different families and upbringing. Noah comes from a Jewish family in Massachusetts. He has lived in Ecuador and Spain where he studied Spanish and taught History. Meanwhile, Natalia comes from a Christian family in South America, in the Patagonia region of Argentina. She came to the United States after college by herself, experiencing life as an immigrant, which shaped her life. We feel so fortunate to have found each other after being born half a world away, and we embrace our different beginnings.
We stay connected with Natalia’s family in Argentina, having video calls and visiting whenever we can. We often celebrate holidays and milestones with Noah’s family here in Boston. While we were raised with different religious traditions, we celebrate the pursuits of love, life, and self-growth found in both of our religions.
