Meet the Families

Background:

Andrew is 30, and Abby is 31. We were both born & raised in the Boston area. We first met in college in 2013 as co-leaders of a volunteer group with the homeless. We later married in 2017 and have lived in Quincy, MA ever since… we feel right at home here! We do not currently have any children and are excited to expand our family through adoption.

Supports:

Our families of origin all live close by and are excited to get to know their new family members. We also have a close network of friends and are active in our local church community.

Employment:

We are both licensed social workers. Abby works in elder care, providing support for family caregivers of older adults. Andrew works as a primary care social worker for a Boston hospital. Abby works remotely, while Andrew works a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility that ill be helpful in parenting. We understand the impact of trauma on young children and are committed to the hard work of helping them heal.

Hobbies/Interests:

Andrew loves riding his bike everywhere and is fascinated by the weather. Abby enjoys reading and practicing yoga. We also enjoy going for walks, kayaking and planning adventures together!

Our Home:

We live in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment. Our neighbors are quiet and friendly. We live within walking distance to several parks and playgrounds. Our home is a place of stability and belonging.

Our Future:

We look forward to giving our children a safe, predictable environment where they can grow, learn and play. Going to the park, eating dinner together, being silly, and family game nights are just a sample of the activities we are eager to enjoy together. We are excited to get to know each child’s unique individuality, and to empower them to love and accept themselves.
