Our motivation to adopt is driven by our desire to expand our family. There is an endless supply of love within us, and we feel our best when offering love and support to those around us. We can’t have biological children, but the love we’ve found while parenting our son has been the most profound love we could have imagined!

About Amber by Randy

Amber is a dedicated and hard-working mother. She’s also a great partner. She is always going above and beyond to support her loved ones.

Some of her interests include crafts, performance art, gardening, hiking, snowboarding, travelling with family, movies/TV, and animals.

She’s innately nurturing and it’s apparent when I witness her caring for our son. Her experience with children has been lifelong and her professional early childhood education career has spanned over ten years.

Amber also has experience working with children of different abilities, adolescents with Autism, and adults who have suffered traumatic brain injuries. She’s a caregiver and educator at her core and I’m continually amazed by her.

About Randy by Amber

I have never known anyone more loving or kind than Randy. He is my greatest supporter and I am his. In general, he’s an introverted person, but when we are around close friends and family, he makes everyone smile and laugh.

He works hard as a senior electrical engineer and I believe his relentless desire to acquire knowledge and develop skills has helped him be successful. I daydream about him building LEGOs, constructing toys, designing a guitar, and watching the eyes of our child open in amazement with the awe of discovery.

He has a gentle demeanor and balances my spontaneity with his logical way of thinking. He’s an unfiltered, open book with an entertaining and joyous sense of humor.

Some of his interests include electronics, playing guitar/bass, PC games, photography, and nature.

Meet Oliver

Ollie is our beautiful two-year-old son. He’s adventurous, joyful, and inquisitive. We adopted him when he was a newborn and had the opportunity to meet his birth parents and thank them for their precious gift to us. We received a phone call that his birth parents had chosen us to be his adoptive parents on the day he was born so his arrival was quite a whirlwind! Over the last two years, we have provided regular photos and updates to Ollie’s birth family and look forward to spending time together when his parents are ready to do so. Ollie has siblings who were also placed for adoption and we have made it a priority to spend time with all of the siblings together.

Ollie absolutely loves trucks and gets excited whenever he sees one driving on the road. He also loves books, dinosaurs, and dancing to music. His current favorite songs are “Animal Freeze Dance Song” and “Hop Little Bunnies”. Oliver is in constant motion and he only has one speed; running!

He attends the daycare where Amber teaches, so they’re able to see each other throughout the day. Amber most admires his fearlessness while using the climbing structures and his intuition to comfort friends with a hug whenever they’re upset. We think his awareness of others’ needs will make him a great big brother! Randy is especially proud of the effort Oliver puts into learning new things.

He’s observant, likes helping out, and has an endearing sense of humor. We look forward to seeing him become a big brother and watching the children grow up together.

Our Relationship

We met on a dating website in 2013 and connected immediately when we met in person.  We bonded over spinach and garlic pizza, then discovered the compatibility of our humor while visiting an ironically terrible art museum.

Some ways we prioritize our relationship is by going out for date nights, watching Netflix while discussing our day, cuddling up with our animals, and going on road trips.

Becoming parents has been the most incredible journey. It has challenged and strengthened our relationship in all the best of ways. We’ve learned so much about ourselves through parenting our son. We look forward to building our relationship further as we welcome a new little one into our family.

We got engaged in the spring of 2016 while on vacation in Mexico City.  We have an entertaining engagement story that we hope to share with you one day!  We were married in 2017 in Topsfield, Massachusetts; surrounded by friends and family on a perfect fall day.

Family

Amber was born in Massachusetts to a family that would do anything for one another. Her immediate family consists of her mother, sister, and two brothers. Her extended family consists of her Nana, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins, and friends who she has known the majority of her life. Her ancestors are mostly Irish and Lithuanian. Some of her favorite family memories are of waterpark adventures, town fairs, family vacations in Maine and Florida, and beach days.

Randy grew up in Southern New Hampshire with a small, closely connected family.  He is of Irish and German descent.  He’s very close with his mother and older brother.  His extended family is comprised of his Grammy, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He fondly remembers family trips to Disney World and Martha’s Vineyard.  He also remembers having fun playing sports, visiting amusement parks, and camping.

Our pets are dear to our hearts. We have two loving cats with unique personalities, Charlie and Phillip.

We also have a young, energetic, medium-sized dog named Penny that is a shepherd-mix. Our animals are friendly and Oliver loves them. We expect that Oliver will show our next child how to pet them gently.

Home

We live in a safe, quiet town in Southern New Hampshire with access to an excellent school system. Our property is a 4-bedroom 2-bathroom house with 2.5 acres of land. We’re close to state forests, mountains, and hiking trails. We love that there’s always laughter in our home, music playing in the background, and the sounds of a busy toddler running around the house. We cook dinner together as a family as often as possible. You can also find us playing together outside in the yard or working on a house project.
