Our story began in 2018 when a chance meeting quickly turned into something special. From the start, our relationship was built on deep respect, laughter, and a shared vision for the future. After a year of long-distance dating, we made the leap and built a life together in Massachusetts. We got engaged in 2021 and married in 2023, surrounded by family, friends, and our beloved dog, Lola.

We’ve always known we wanted to grow our family through adoption. Our home is filled with love, adventure, and strong family traditions. Whether it’s traveling the world, hosting family dinners or enjoying our backyard, we believe life is best when shared—and we can’t wait to share it all with our future child. We both had stay-at-home parents growing up, and are excited to have Dru stay at home full-time.

About Dru

Dru is full of energy, warmth, and a natural ability to bring people together. Whether he’s organizing family gatherings, mentoring young people, or planning a fun weekend adventure, he has a way of making everyone feel valued. His passion for working with children has shaped his entire career—he has spent over 18 years leading programs that support kids and families, from summer camps to after-school programs. Seeing children grow and thrive brings him endless joy, and he is eager to bring that same love and encouragement into fatherhood.

At home, Dru is the planner—the one who keeps things running smoothly while still making room for fun. He loves cooking, being outdoors, and working on projects around the house. He finds joy in the little things, whether it’s making a home-cooked meal, tending to the yard, or listening to his favorite music. More than anything, Dru is ready to pour his heart into parenting, providing a child with stability, guidance, and a lifetime of love.

About Steve

Steve is thoughtful, resourceful, and always thinking a few steps ahead. He has a natural curiosity about the world and loves learning how things work—whether it’s businesses, technology, or the people around him. As an IT management consultant, he helps companies solve complex problems, but at home, he’s the steady, supportive presence that keeps everything grounded.

Though more reserved than Dru, Steve has a big heart and a deep sense of responsibility for the people he loves. He’s the kind of person who will always show up—whether it’s helping a friend in need, supporting his younger sisters, or making sure his family stays connected. He enjoys running, trying new restaurants, and exploring different cultures through travel. As a dad, he looks forward to sharing his passions while also embracing whatever sparks excitement in his child’s life, supporting them in becoming whoever they are meant to be.

Family & Friends

Our lives are deeply rooted in family and friendships that feel like family. Steve’s relatives all live nearby in Massachusetts, making it easy to gather for frequent family dinners, birthdays, and holiday traditions. Dru’s family, though farther away in Ohio and South Carolina, remain just as close—we make it a priority to visit several times a year, ensuring that distance never gets in the way of strong connections.

Beyond our relatives, we are surrounded by a tight-knit circle of lifelong friends who have been part of our journey for decades. Many of them have children of their own and are eager to welcome our future child with open arms. Whether it’s backyard cookouts, weekend getaways, or just a casual night catching up, our home is always filled with love, laughter, and a strong support system. We know without a doubt that our child will grow up surrounded by people who will love, encourage, and celebrate them every step of the way.

Our Home

Our home is more than just a place to live-it’s where we feel safe, loved, and truly ourselves. Built in the 1890s and thoughtfully restored, our house blends old-world charm with modern comfort. It has four bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and plenty of space for a child to grow, play, and explore.

Inside, our home is warm and inviting, filled with personal touches that reflect our lives-family heirlooms, travel mementos, and framed photos of special moments. The heart of our home is the dining room, where we come together for meals, celebrate birthdays, and host Thanksgiving for our family. Our kitchen is always buzzing with activity, whether Dru is trying a new recipe or we’re baking cookies for the holidays.

Outside, our fenced-in backyard is a favorite spot for relaxing, playing with our dog, Lola, and enjoying summer evenings. Every corner of our home is filled with love, and we can’t wait to create new memories here as parents.
