• Support and Love Unconditionally: We will always be there to encourage, comfort, and cheer on our future child through every milestone and moment of growth.
• Uplift their Racial and Cultural Identity: We are committed to celebrating our child’s unique racial and cultural identity by learning about their heritage together, surrounding them with representation, remaining open minded and curious, maintaining connection with their birth culture and ensuring they feel a sense of belonging in our family and community.
• Create a Home of Joy and Safety: Our home will be a space where they feel safe to express themselves, learn, and grow.
• Model Compassion and Kindness: We will teach our child to care for others and the world around them.
• Celebrate Their Unique Journey: Just as we have created our own unique love story, we will celebrate and support the unique path our child took to join our family and will take in their future, wherever it may lead.

We are truly grateful for the opportunity to connect with you as hopeful adoptive parents. We understand this decision is incredibly difficult and we respect the strength it takes to make it. We want you to know we will hold and honor all of your feelings around this – no matter what they are. If you are worried, afraid, nervous, sad, angry, excited, numb – any or all of the above, we understand. You are valid in it all and we welcome you to look to us as partners in this journey.

We want you to know how much we admire your strength and love for this child.
