About Us

Hi! We’re Jessie, Kurt, and Max. We live in a cozy 1930s lakefront cottage in Amesbury, MA. Our home is small but full of love, creativity, and connection. We love playing outside year-round, cooking meals together, playing music and games, making arts and crafts, and spending time with family and friends.

We’re excited to grow our family through adoption and are ready to welcome a young child into our lives. We support open adoption when in the child’s best interest. Our goal is to provide an inclusive home where the child feels safe, loved, and supported.

Jessie and Kurt

We met in December 2010 and married in October 2017. We’ve built a strong, fun, and supportive relationship based on shared values, curiosity, and communication.

As trauma informed parents, we recognize that trauma changes the way a child’s brain develops and processes the world. For us, parenting begins with creating a safe, structured, and nurturing environment to build trust and connection. We both have a calm demeanor and respond to challenges with empathy. We also understand that trauma is stored in the body, and we look to facilitate regulation with movement and sensory experiences to support the kiddo’s overall growth.

Kurt works as a technology consultant and loves woodworking. Jessie leads operations for an energy efficiency company and loves creative projects like candle-making and sewing. We both enjoy spending time with Max, exploring the world, and being active and engaged in our community.

Our Son Max

Max just turned 5 and is a joyful, energetic, and thoughtful kid. He loves trucks, trains, playing outside, baking muffins (especially with chocolate chips!), and doing art projects with us. He has a strong personality and a big heart, and he’s very excited about becoming a big brother.
