Our Relationship

We grew up together, going to the same elementary and high school. We reconnected after college and went on warm summer dates climbing mountains  exploring Boston and some quirky activities like picking potatoes. We spent two years going back and forth between where we were each living. When Covid hit, instead of staying only two weeks like planned, Ryan ended up moving in with Katie for good.We welcomed Kaiser into the family in 2020 and bought Katie’s mother’s house. Ryan proposed in 2021 and we married in York, Maine, August 5th, 2022. As a couple we love spending time outdoors, traveling and enjoying a nice dinner out.

About Katie

By Ryan

My wife Katie is the kindest and most driven person that I know. Working as a music teacher I regularly get to see Katie’s gift for connecting with children and sharing music. Since the day we reconnected over 7 years ago I have been struck by her consideration for others, intelligence and nurturing personality. I have been certain for a long time that Katie will be a fantastic mother. Katie is a wonderful singer and I enjoy watching her sing in the church choir and listening to her practice piano at home. When she has downtime I often find Katie reading a book or working on a puzzle at our kitchen table. It doesn’t matter if it is silly moments singing along to the radio during car rides or conducting at formal music performances, Katie brings joy into our home and to those she interacts with everyday.

About Ryan

By Katie

Ryan works for a local hospital system training Doctors and Pharmacists how to use the hospital’s medical software and makes sure that he does his best in his leadership role. He is an amazing cook who takes pride in putting tasty meals on the table. He spends a lot of time in his garden growing delicious vegetables. He loves spending time with his family and would do anything for them. On the weekends you can find Ryan bringing our dog Kaiser to the dog park or for a hike. He has kept close relationships with his high school friends who care for him deeply. What I love most about Ryan is his calm nature, sense of humor and ability to have a positive attitude. I feel very thankful to be his wife and know that he would make an amazing father with a lot of dad jokes up his sleeve.

Our Family

Our family is very excited at the opportunity to welcome a baby into the fold.

Katie is an only child. Her father Robert is a very giving and loving person and lives in the next town over. Katie’s mother Christina lives in Florida and is a very cheerful person with a fun personality. Katie has an Aunt Teresa who is looking forward to babysitting and cousins Nicole and Melissa who would be frequent visitors.

Ryan has two younger twin sisters Megan and Sam. He also has a one-year-old nephew Brooks. His parents Roger and Dawn are over the moon to become grandparents again and would spoil the new baby.  Ryan also has a special relationship with his grandmother Carol. Ryan’s family lives nearby in New Hampshire.

We were excited to welcome Kaiser into the family in 2020. He is a 5-year-old neutered German Shepherd who is up to date on all vaccines. We had him attend training classes as a puppy. He has a wonderful temperament and enjoys being around our nephew Brooks. He gets very excited about visits to the dog park and will play fetch with his frisbee all day. He travels well in the car and loves to join us on our family trips to Maine.

Our Home

We live in a residential community halfway between Boston and Providence. Our house is down the road from a lake with a playground and 10 minutes from Katie’s school. It is a split level with 5 bedrooms and two bathrooms. When you walk in you can smell spices like garlic and pepper coming from the dinner that’s being prepared in the evening. Ryan and Katie make home cooked meals most nights from scratch in the kitchen. On a fall weekend the house will smell of the apple themed desserts Ryan likes to bake or fresh grilled vegetables from the garden out back. The downstairs is fully furnished and we envision the area as a potential children’s playroom filled with toys. The backyard is fenced in with a firepit and garden and plenty of space for a child to run and play. We look forward to throwing a baseball around.
