Meet the Families

We met in the Fall of 2019 and married in Modesto’s motherland, Dominican Republic (DR), in February 2025. We currently reside in Auburn, MA, as it is a central location, as we work on opposite ends of the state. We don’t yet have any kids, but we have many nieces and nephews.

Modesto is currently the Executive Director of a charter school located in downtown Springfield, MA. He was born in the DR and moved to Mass when he was 11. He grew up in a low-income home with 6 siblings we experienced a great deal of food insecurity and other poverty related challenges. This experience helps him connect with kids and families from similar circumstances. Having been born and raised in the DR, he loves all things Latinx, including food, music, dancing, and the beach. As a career educator, Modesto loves working with kids and feels really comfortable creating a safe, loving, structured, and predictable space in which kids can thrive in.

Eric is currently a software designer at a healthcare software company located in Foxboro, MA. Eric grew with loving Jewish parents and two identical twin sisters. Eric is a little bit of an introvert who enjoys working out, singing, listening to music (specifically Soul and R&B), researching new technology, and obsessing over the house and yard, ensuring things are kept organized, clean, and welcoming.  He is also excited to share his newfound love of traveling with a child.

We both have family nearby and see them often. In particular, we strive to see our nieces and nephews as much as possible. We come from big, loving, outspoken, and fun families who are warm and welcoming. We are excited to expand our family and start to make lifelong memories.
