Meet the Families
About us
We met as teenagers while attending college in southern Maryland. We have been together for over 15 years, and married for the past seven. We joke that we are each one side of the same brain- Roz is artistic and creative, while Chris loves math and data.
Our shared sense of humor initially brought us together, but we soon found we are both ambitious and empathic people who love the outdoors and traveling. We also share a commitment and love for our large families and community of friends.
We feel so lucky that we have known and loved one another through so many different seasons of life – from college, to early adulthood, and now to growing our family through adoption!

About Roz
I love to learn, explore, and be curious about the world. I have a master’s degree in Education, and work at an art museum where I help people of different ages and backgrounds enjoy and create art. In my spare time, I take life drawing classes and have recently begun making my own block prints.
I have worked with children my whole life, as a nanny, teacher, and even a swim instructor! I am so excited to share moments of creativity and curiosity with our child.
I grew up in a city, but in the summer my family lived at our beach house, which are my favorite childhood memories. I love to be outside, whether it is exploring neighborhoods in our city or hiking in Italy, Spain, New Hampshire… wherever I can! I cannot wait to explore our world through our child’s eyes and share this beautiful world with them.

About Chris
Growing up in the suburbs of Rhode Island, the best memories of my childhood involve exploring outside, skiing, and hiking. I grew up with an older brother, and my parents- mom was a lawyer and my dad worked as a loan originator. Even after a full day, Mom always found time to make a great Italian meal for us, and Dad was always up to play a few games of ping pong.
I have my master’s degree in financial engineering and work at an investment firm that I love, getting far too invested (pun intended) with problem-solving.
When I am not working, I am rarely sitting down. My favorite hobby is disc golf, which I am so excited to do with my child someday. Most weekends of the summer, Roz and I are playing pickle ball and taking dips in the pool. In the winter, I enjoy working on carpentry projects, something that I used to do with my grandfather growing up. I can’t wait to share these fascinations with my child, and witness their experiences as they learn new things and grow into their own person.
Our home
Five years ago, we purchased a row house built in 1860 to be our forever home. Walking into our house you would likely hear the sounds of laughter and a Paul Simon record playing, be greeted by our two very affectionate cats and the smell of dinner cooking, and see the collection of art and projects we have worked on and collected over the years.
Our house is in the same small city where Roz grew up. Living in the city has lots of great perks! We are surrounded by a community of friends and family, including Roz’s parents who live close by. We can both walk to our offices, and an excellent elementary school, the waterfront, many restaurants, and two large parks are all within a few blocks of our house.

Family & Community
We both have close relationships with our parents and siblings. We see Roz’s parents frequently, and Chris’ parents love to come from Rhode Island to visit. We also are both lucky to be part of large extended families (we both have more than 10 aunts and uncles, with even more cousins!) where we have felt supported, encouraged, and loved.
One value we share is the importance of friendships. We both have close friends from every stage of our lives, and see these friends as an extension of our family. We cannot wait to introduce our child to their “aunts and uncles” who are ready to totally adore them!
As our friends have had their own children, we’ve been so excited for them to be part of our extended friend-family. It’s a blast to be goofy with the kids, see them smile, and know that our child will be part of this great crew someday. One couple has adopted two children, who we hope will be fast friends and resources for our child.
