Meet the Families
In the eight years we have been together, we have shared many activities and passions. From farming, to traveling, to making the world a better place, we are partners in life, love, work and projects. We speak both English and Spanish at home and at work. Our communities are very diverse and multicultural. We both have a very wide network of friends, coworkers and family.
Dania:
I’m really committed to live my life fully and happily. I am a strong passionate person. I love deeply and believe I am loyal to my loved ones. I know how to work hard and fight for what I want. The biggest reason to live a healthy active happy life are my children and grandchildren. I still have a lot of energy and love to give, so I want to add a new little member of our family with all my heart. I have been blessed with four beautiful children and two grandchildren that are the center of my universe. I am committed to sharing my blessings and we both know (Matt and I) that we have more than enough to share. We have lots of energy left to play, and love to give to any little person we get lucky to see grow and share our home with.
I came to the US from Guatemala with my two daughters, Maria and Julissa. I had them very young and endured a lot of challenges, but found they were the reason to keep going. We still have a strong, close relationship (we text everyday and see each other at least once a week) and we often FaceTime with my grandchildren.
Matt:
I enjoy playing music, woodworking, soccer, cooking and building things. For work, I am fortunate to do two things I love: staff a nonprofit that starts cooperative businesses and make documentary films. Its also very flexible and I look forward to working less and mostly from home with a baby around.
David and Rafael:
David and Rafael are excited to have a new sibling, and share all the goodness of this family. Rafael is in 10th grade and is into drawing, soccer, making videos and is serious about school.
David is in 7th grade and loves swimming, driving the lawn tractor, science experiments and Dragon Ball Z. As a special needs 13 year old, he has learned to advocate for himself and has provided Dania and Matt many years of experience advocating alongside him.
They are both loving uncles and enjoy teaching and cuddling little ones.
Our Home:
We own a farm house on 52 acres with chickens, a small apple orchard and vegetable farm. We have lots of space to roam, but are close to cities like Worcester, Boston and Providence. Respecting the earth is important to us, so we compost our food scraps and heat mostly with solar energy.
We chose this place to live with our kids in mind, knowing they will be in good schools, a safe neighborhood and have access to exploration and fun.
We have a working farm where Dania works with other farmers. We have lots of veggies and other goodies growing here, also have tons of fresh eggs from our chickens.
