We are a nerdy, loving couple looking to expand our family through adoption. We have been together for 10 years and married for eight. Our home in Hopedale is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with plenty of space in the house for 1-2 children and a yard for them to play. Moo, our 18 year old cat, is very friendly , gentle with children, and loves attention. Our work schedules allow for flexibility when it comes to attending meetings and appointments for a child as Tim works from home and Jen works three days a week at a clinic close to home.

We take great amounts of joy from watching and attending sporting events, attending concerts, playing games (both board and computer), watching movies, and working on home projects. We also enjoy spending time with friends, family, and their pets. Besides our common interests, we are also supportive of our individual identities. Jen is active in local professional organizations and in her spare time enjoys crocheting, gardening, and reading. Tim enjoys tinkering with his computers, 3D printing and designing, as well as woodworking. Traveling is also a huge passion of ours. We’ve had adventures around the globe and believe there are always new cultures to explore and experience to discover. We have been seeing our couples counselor for several years to help process the grief we have experienced regarding fertility issues and the loss of family members, including Tim’s Mom and Uncle. Through these sessions, we have learned how to strengthen our relationship and communication through mutual support, trust, and a commitment to each other.

As part of our journey through the adoption process, we have been attending classes on Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), transracial adoption, and other topics offered by MARE. Our lives are surrounded with several great parenting role models that have children between the ages of newborn to late teens. We have a close relationship with our 7 year old nephew and love bringing him to our home for long weekends. When he is with us, we enjoy spending time exploring his interests and taking him on fun outings to sporting events and museums. We are excited to use these experiences as a springboard that will help up learn about our child’s personality, preferences, interests, and needs while nurturing their curiosity, creativity, and culture.
