Our Commitment

We hope this has given you a glimpse into our life, the love we have for each other, and the type of parents we hope to be. While we can’t fully understand what this journey has been like for you, we commit to learning from you and providing support in a way that is meaningful to you.

One of the most important ways we plan to instill a sense of identity and belonging for a child is through learning about and feeling honored and proud of their background and birth family. Your child will always know that they are loved and we are committed to remaining connected to you and your family in any way that feels right to you. Although we may come from different racial, cultural or ethnic backgrounds, we are committed to seeking out every opportunity for a child to feel connected to their heritage through the diverse community we are lucky to be surrounded by.

We commit to raising a child in a home full of support, honesty, and curiosity. We can’t wait to read bedtime stories, cook family meals together, and build new traditions as a family. While we have an idea of the types of experiences we want to provide our child with, we commit to being fully engaged in whatever activities they grow to love.
